Asphalt or water ... DYMC Co has your ride.
Building the Keel (Winter 2006-2007)
... please be patient while the photos load

The bottom of the keel takes shape.

Greg's press - which he manufactured - helps out in the keel

Melting lead to fill the ballast

It was a challenge just moving the keel around in the shop. When finished
and moved outside - it weighed 18,000 lbs.

More welding and shaping to form the keel.

In Progress March 2007

In May 2007, the keel was moved outside - next stop - a hole in the ground
south of where the boat sits next to the shop. Then the boat will be turned
right-side up and placed on top the narrower portion of the keel. The keel
has the capability of being pulled up to enter shallower water (not quite
the shallowness of Springfield's Lewis and Clark Lake).
